Latest Boro Tower Lease Brings Alion HQ to New Tysons Project

In the latest lease at Boro Tower, the co-development of The Meridian Group and Rockefeller Group in Tysons, Va., Alion Science and Technology (“Alion”) plans to move its headquarters to about 14,000 square feet in the building.

This caps a string of recent success at Boro Tower, now nearing completion, including a seven-floor lease to KPMG and a full-floor lease to the law firm Womble Bond Dickinson at the end of 2018.  With the latest lease to Alion, the building is more than 70 percent preleased, with approximately 120,000 square feet remaining available for lease.

The Boro

“We’re thrilled to announce the addition of Alion to Boro Tower,” said Tom Boylan, Vice President of The Meridian Group, which is developing The Boro. “As the preeminent office building in Tysons, Boro Tower continues to attract a diverse and balanced mix of successful, market-leading companies. The Boro is becoming the perfect place to experience it all. We are looking forward to welcoming Alion and opening The Boro in 2019.”

“Tysons Corner, and the National Capital Region, have been home to Alion for many years, and it only made sense for us to continue to commit to the community through the relocation of our headquarters operation,” said Steve Schorer, CEO of Alion. “This area has much to offer our business and our employees. We look forward to all the great features of our new offices, and the amenities of the Boro community.”

“Companies well poised for growth recognize the workplace advantages delivered in transit-rich, amenity-driven locations.”

“Alion Science and Technology strongly complements the growing list of tenants who have chosen Boro Tower,” said Hilary Allard Goldfarb, Senior Vice President and Regional Development Officer for Rockefeller Group’s Mid-Atlantic Region. “Companies well poised for growth recognize the workplace advantages delivered in transit-rich, amenity-driven locations. Welcoming Alion, we are very pleased with the caliber and the depth of our tenant roster.

Meridian and Rockefeller Group are co-developing Boro Tower, with Skanska constructing the state-of-the-art building. From its vantage on “The Hill” – the highest ground elevation in Fairfax County – the 20-story Tower offers panoramic views from the Blue Ridge Mountains to downtown Washington, D.C.

The Gensler-designed building features a shimmering glass curtain wall, accented by a modern, white-glazed terra cotta. Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, Boro Tower also features 9- to 10-foot ceilings and ideally sized floorplates that minimize columns and maximize daylight and views. The Tower will be topped by an expansive rooftop terrace.
